John Drummond Obituary

John E. Drummond, age 90, of Weedsport, died peacefully after a short illness on April 11, 2017.                
Born in Fulton, N.Y. to Mae (Murphy) Kaiser and Clarence Drummond, he lived most of his life in Fulton and Marcellus, N.Y., and Richmond, Va.
He is survived by his sister, Jean (Mrs. John) Ancona; three daughters, Julie Pritchard, Amy (and husband, Mark) Kent, and Katie (and husband, Terry) Adams; grandchildren, Kyle, Ally, Leslie, and Jacob, and great-grandchildren.  
His beloved wife, Jill, died in 1988.
Mr. Drummond was an artist, cartoonist, and teacher.  His cartoons appeared in many national publications in the 1960s.  His paintings are included in many public and private collections.
A World War II veteran, he attended Layton Art School (Milwaukee, Wis.), Marietta College (Marietta, Ohio), and the State University of New York at Oswego.  
John was a devout Catholic, loving, well read, and very witty, he will be missed.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 in St. John’s Church, Port Byron.  Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21 at White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport.
