William E. Farrelly

William E. Farrelly, 85, of Seneca Falls, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Geneva General Hospital after a short illness. Billy (as he was affectionately known), was born October 27, 1938, in Auburn, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Jane (Reidy) Farrelly. He was a graduate of Central High School in Auburn. He worked for Jacobs Press in Auburn for many years, before changing careers to become an auto sales representative for Bill Trout in Seneca Falls, and lastly for Gillespie Chevrolet in Union Springs, from where he retired. Billy married the love of his life, the former Sharon Jones, on August 31, 1963. They raised their three daughters in Cayuga, NY, where they relocated to in 1979. Billy was a member of the Kirk Casey Post 366 Sons of the American Legion in Seneca Falls. He and Sharon could be found on most Friday nights hanging out with their "crew". Billy enjoyed camping, the New York Yankees, Coors Light, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed more than words can say.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Sharon of Seneca Falls, his daughters; Dawn (Steve) Landers of Union Springs, Shelly (Bill) Chilson of Cayuga, and Lisa (Joe) Townsend of Union Springs; his grandchildren, Ashley Landers (Kevin), Michael (Amanda) Chilson, Felicia (Mark) Rodriguez, Amanda Townsend (Josh), Lauren (Nick) Schooley and Matt Chilson (Payton); his siblings, David, Edward, Bernard, Ronald, Timothy, Deborah, Kathryn and Susan; also seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Billy was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Jane; his siblings, Joseph, Paul, Thomas, Richard, Shirley, Jeanne and Patricia. Also, by his two grandsons, Ryan William Chilson and Stephen Richard Landers.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21st at noon, in White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn. Interment will in follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn. Friends are welcome to visit with the family prior to the service from 10am - 12pm in the funeral home.
