Crystal L Van Slyke

OWASCO | Crystal L. Van Slyke, 64, of French Avenue, Owasco, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, surround by her loving family.

Crystal was born in Oswego, N.Y. on Feb. 13, 1955, to the late Ansil and Myrtle Woods Cleary.  She loved helping others, and enjoyed fishing and crafting.  Her greatest joy came from the time she spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

Crystal is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 47 years, Dennis Van Slyke; her children, Dennis (Dawn) Van Slyke, Kirk Van Slyke, and Cherri (John) Schadt; her grandchildren, Kyleigh Van Slyke, Steven Glauberman, Destiny Van Slyke, Emily Schadt, and Lilly Schadt; her siblings, Sharon (Dave) Mahaney, of Oswego, Shelia (Paul) Lapsley, of Syracuse, Pat (Charles) Ball, of Oswego, Dennis Cleary, of Cato, Debbie (George) Vanderveer, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Ansil Cleary, of Oswego. 

In addition to her parents, Crystal was predeceased by her sister, Jean (Ronald) Harrington. 

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 13, at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn.  A graveside service will be held at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in Emerson Cemetery, Conquest.
