David T. Coleman 78, passed away peacefully and unexpected Sunday March 3, 2019 at his Case Avenue Home.
Born in Skaneateles on September 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Chuyler and Margaret Bachman Coleman.
Following his graduation from Auburn’s Central High School, David proudly served his country with the US Navy. He retired
as a Supervisor from McQuay following 42 years of employment. He enjoyed socializing and made many friends through his
membership with the S – K Post 1324 of the American Legion, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Knights of Columbus.
He was a parishioner of Holy Family Church, and very much enjoyed his time spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jean DeLapp Coleman, his daughter, Stacey Hearn and her husband David, his son
David C. Coleman and his wife Tina, three grandchildren, David, Sadie, and Caden, three sisters, Pauline (James) Reilley,
Marilyn (Edward) Giancola, and Nancy (Craig) Brown, a sister-in-law, Josephine Coleman, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Coleman was predeceased by twin infant grandchildren, David Thomas Hearn, and Jonathan Shawn Hearn, a sister
Margaret “Peggy” Lasher, and a brother, William Coleman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday March 7, at 10 am in Holy Family Church. Interment with Military
Honors will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family Wednesday from 2-4 pm and
7-9 pm at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street Auburn.
