| Donald G. Ryan, 96, of Lansing Street, Auburn, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Ryan was born in Auburn on July 22, 1922, the son of the late James and Catherine Synnott Ryan. Donald proudly served his country while in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was formerly employed at Sylvania in Seneca Falls, in industrial maintenance. Don was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1975 of Auburn, a member of the American Legion SK Post 1324, and the longest reigning member of the Utopia Club.
Don is survived by his family, his companion of 49 years, Irene Adams; his sons, Thomas Ryan and his wife, Phyllis, and Timothy Ryan and his wife, Tammy; his beloved grandchildren, Sierra Ryan, Justin Ryan, Cody Ryan, Ron Ryan, Daniel Ryan, and Nate Lupo; his great-grandchildren, Hailey and Evan Ryan; his sister, Irene Ryan Worden (John); nieces and nephews.
Don was predeceased by his son, Donald J. Ryan who passed away Oct. 10, 1967 while serving in Vietnam; his siblings, Robert Ryan and Mary Ellen “Peg” Klink.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Auburn. Calling hours are from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at the funeral home.
