Dorla J. (Shepherd) Bell

Dorla J.Bell, 69, of Auburn passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Matthew House, following a lengthy illness. Dorla was born in Jamaica, NY on March 22, 1949,   the daughter of the late Roy H. and Agnes E. (MacCheyne) Shepherd.  Dorla was a member of SS Peter & John Episcopal Church;  she  retired from the NYS Dept of Corrections, where she was employed for 23 years as a store clerk.
Dorla is survived by her best friend and husband of 31 years, Thomas “Joe” Bell, her sisters, Lynn (Bruce) Rich and Beth (Ed) Redman, her brother, Ray H. Shepherd, 5 step-children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  
In addition to her parents, Dorla was predeceased by her sister-in-law Patricia Shepherd and her step-son.
Friends may visit with her family Thursday August 2, from 4-6 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc, 197 South St, Auburn.  Burial will take place Friday, August 3 at 11:00 AM at Fort Hill Cemetery, a memorial service will then follow at 12:00 PM, at SS Peter & John Episcopal Church.
