Grace E. (Walters) Upfold

MONTEZUMA | Grace Evelyn Upfold passed away peacefully April 22, 2019, in her home, affectionately known as “Gracie’s Mountain.”

She was born Oct. 8, 1940 in Aurelius, N.Y. to William and Georgiana Walters.  Grace loved life and lived it simply.  She married the man she fell in love with, and together they raised four strong daughters.  She loved her flower gardens and family life, and she nurtured them both beautifully.

Grace is survived by her devoted daughters, Diane Gardner, Donna (Cindy) Upfold, Darlene (Jeff) Quinn, and Dawn (Randy) Calhoun; her beloved grandchildren, Marie (Dan) Hacker, Emily (Pat) A’Hearn, Julie Angus, Rachel (David) Rios, Byron (Melinda) Quinn, Natalie (Joseph) Ciccarello, and Meghan (Dominick) Nicoletti; her great-grandchildren, Claire, Jonah, and Reilly.  Grace is also survived by her siblings, Mille Yeomans and William (Maryann) Walters; brother-in-law, Sam Hosier.

In addition to her parents and husband, Duane J. Upfold, Grace was predeceased by siblings and their spouses, Jack (Ester) Walters, Anna (Mert) Salls, Betty (Herm) Dedrick, Mae (Carl) Bergerstock, Elsie Hosier, and Dee (Jim) Ball.

Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport.  Services will begin at 1 p.m. with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery in Throop.
