James B. Minde, 73 of Anthony Street Union Springs passed away unexpectedly Monday September 10, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.
Born October 14, 1944 in Rochester, Jim was the son of the late Merle and Gertrude Brigden Minde.
He was a graduate of Union Springs High School and attended Morrisville College.
Jim retired from the Auburn Correction Facility following 31 years, of working as a New York State Corrections Officer. He was very active within his community, having served as the Town of Springport Justice, as well as Mayor and Trustee for the Village of Union Springs. He was a Life Member of the Union Springs Fire Department, served on the Board for Fleming Rural Cemetery, and a Volunteer for the Ward O'Hara Ag Museum.
Jim was an Antique Car enthusiast, he was a proud owner of a 1938 Plymouth and a member of the Antique Car Club.
Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years, Robin-Lee Schreiber Minde, a daughter Lisa (Nicholas) Mercado, of PA., Two sons, James M. (Linda) Minde of Auburn, and Scott (Starla) Minde, of Rochester, grandchildren, Haley, and Ashley Mercado, Sarah and James Minde, Step-grandchildren, Adam McDonald, Krystina Weston, Elton, Julie and Alex Ellinger, and Jillian Tonnes, three sisters, Naoma Bates, Linda (David) Minde and Marilyn Bergerstock all of Auburn, a brother Allan Minde of TX., two dear friends, Margaret and William McLoud.
Predeceasing Mr. Minde were a brother Robert M. Minde and a sister in law Charlene Minde.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 1 pm in White Chapel Funeral Home,
197 South St. Auburn.
Burial will be in Fleming Rural Cemetery, Fleming.
Friends are invited to call on the family Saturday from 3-6 pm at White Chapel.
