James L. Shutter

James L. Shutter, 63, of Union Springs passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018, in the comfort of his home. Jim was born in Auburn on April 4, 1955, the son of the late Donald and Leota Smith Shutter.  
Jim was employed at Hammond & Irving for 43 years, retiring  as a supervisor.  He enjoyed fly fishing, golfing and cooking for family and friends.  
Jim is survived by his  loving family, his wife of 24 years, Cynthia Chase Shutter, his daughters, Danielle (Eric) Barendt and their children, Esme, Elin and Emryn; and Gabrielle (James) Garcia and their children, Ava, Cruz and Xander, and his son Paul Shutter; his  brother Donald (Adrienne) Shutter, mother-in-law Mabel Chase, special friend Dale Walter and  his Hammond & Irving family.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister Judy and father-in-law Luman Chase.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 4 at 12:00 PM at the White Chapel Funeral  Home Inc, 197 South St, Auburn. Burial will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery.   Calling hours Monday, Sept 3 from  12-3 PM at the funeral home.  Donations in memory of James L Shutter may be made to:  Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Dr, Auburn.
