SARASOTA, Fla. — June Marie McHale, of Sarasota Fla., and a long-time resident of Auburn, passed away on April 11, 2019.
June was the daughter of the late Mae and Arthur Dadson, of Throop. She was born on Sept. 30, 1937 in Seneca Falls, and her parents moved to Auburn when she was three years old. June graduated from West High School in 1955 and Auburn Community College in 1957. She worked as a legal secretary in Auburn for many years. She married Frank McHale in 1978 and resided in Throop before they moved to Sarasota in 1988. June was employed by Sarasota Bradenton Airport Authority as secretary to the Board of Directors prior to her retirement.
In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her cousin, Jack Owen, of Auburn; as well as step-daughter and son-in-law, Ann Marie Tabone and Dr. Joseph Tabone; son-in-law, Richard Cornall, and granddaughter, Jamie Mills.
She is survived by step-daughters, Patricia Mills (Jimmie), of Carmi Ill., Kathleen Cunningham (Michael), of Cicero, N.Y., Susan Dwyer (James Buschman), of Auburn, Eileen McHale (Robert Buschman), of Auburn, Virginia Stehle (Mark), of Mooresville, N.C., and Noreen Cornall, of Auburn; plus 18 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. June is also survived by Jack’s wife, Sharon Owen, of Auburn, and their daughters, Michelle Owen, of Georgia, and Kimberly Meeker (Dave), of Vermont.
June had a passion for animals and was grateful for the loving companionship of her dogs. Her faithful Yorkie, Tyler was by her side when she passed at Tidwell Hospice House in Bradenton. Contributions made in her honor can be made to the ASPCA, or another animal rescue charity of choice.
A private memorial service will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., Auburn, at the convenience of the family, with burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming.
