Kevin G. Halpin, 60, of Auburn, passed away peacefully May 3, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Kevin (Papa) was employed by the NYS Dept. of Corrections as Plant Supervisor for 33 years and was owner of KGH Cleaning. He enjoyed traveling along with his weekly shopping trips to BJ’s and he could often be found at the SK Post doing scratch offs and crossword puzzles. Before he was tamed, he was a bass guitar player in a local band in Auburn. He was a friend to all and will be deeply missed, but heaven gained another angel to comfort those he left behind.
He is survived by his loving wife, partner and best friend of 28 years, Connie, two children, Skip (Joann) Ritter of New Mexico and Sherri (Kevin) Nicolosi of Auburn. Five grandchildren, Ashley (Louie) Ward, Ally Nicolosi, Patrick Ritter, Tessa and Shanna Gardner. Siblings Richard (Shelly), Nancy Qualtieri and several nieces and nephews as well as his beloved furry friends Lucy and Millie.
He now joins his parents William & Virginia Halpin.
The family would like to thank Auburn Correctional Facility, SK Post, Hospice of the Finger Lakes and the countless friends for their support.
Calling hours will be at White Chapel Funeral Home on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 2pm to 5 pm. A Mass of Remembrance will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 in Holy Family Church at 10 am followed by a celebration of Kevin’s life at the SK Post on State Street.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kevin’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
