Mrs. Pauline E. Rybarczyk 86, of Murray St. Auburn, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 at Auburn Community Hospital after a brief illness. Pauline was born in Auburn on March 1, 1927, the daughter of Mary and John Synnott, the youngest of six siblings. Pauline was a lifelong resident of Auburn and graduated from Holy Family High School. After graduation, Pauline worked for ten years at the Shoe Form Company (Dewitt Plastics) then focused on raising her three children with her husband, The Honorable Judge Joseph J. Rybarczyk. In 1979, after the death of her husband Joe, Pauline returned to the workforce as the Library Clerk for Cayuga County’s Supreme Court Library until her retirement in 1991.
Pauline was a quiet, kind individual and a loving mother and grandmother. In retirement she enjoyed stitching and gifting beautiful, intricate portraits of family members and friends and she was an avid golfer into her mid 70’s. Surviving children are Sandra Rybarczyk of Houston, Texas, Mark Rybarczyk and wife Nancy of Houston, Texas, Mary Jo McEldowney and husband Gary of Cumberland, Rhode Island, five grandchildren, Taylor McEldowney, Evan McEldowney, Lacey Rybarczyk, Jodi Rybarczyk and Robby Rybarczyk, two sister in laws, Helen Skomsky and Jane Vivenzio, many nieces and nephews.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband Joe in 1979, her brother John “Babe” Synnott, and sisters Veronica Smith, Helen Synnott, Mary (Til) Guiney, and Ann Boulware.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St. Auburn. Friends are invited to join the family at a mass of Christian burial at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, in St. Hyacinth's Church. Internment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made tothe charity of one's choice.
