Richard F. Sierzenga, 88, of Town Hall Rd., Owasco, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.
Richard was born in Auburn, NY on May 31, 1931, to the late Anthony and Julia (Fronczek) Sierzenga. He was a member of Teamsters Local 317 and drove truck for Barski’s Feed Mill and bus for Nine Mile Nuclear Plant.
Mr. Sierzenga’s true passion was farming, he loved his John Deere and being outdoors. He enjoyed the many family gatherings that took place at his home.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Florence (King) Sierzenga; his children, Richard (Margaret) Sierzenga, Michael Sierzenga, Michael (Kristin) McKee CO, and John McKee; brothers, Ray, David (Cindy), and Jim Sierzenga; sisters-in-law, Kathy Alcock and Betty Phillips; brother-in-law, Carl King; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his brother Tony; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Joseph Dec, mother and father-in-law, Anna and William King; brother-in-law, Bill King and sister-in-law, Carol King.
A Mass of Christian of Burial will be held Monday, June 17th at 11:15am in St. Mary's Church, 15 Clark St. Auburn. Visitation will be held prior from 10-11am in the church. Internment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Dr. Auburn NY 13021.
