AUBURN | Robert J. Barber, 70, of Auburn, passed away July 6, 2019, at his home.
Born on Aug. 16, 1948, Robert was the son of the late Elmer and Millicent Dangle Barber. He graduated from Nottingham High School in 1967 and received a degree in auto tech at Hudson Valley Community College. Throughout Bob’s life he worked at several auto dealerships and taught auto diagnostics for SUN Electric Company. He retired from the New York State Department of Corrections after 32 years of service. Bob enjoyed playing guitar, golfing, auto racing, and camping with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Denise Barber; his daughters, Michelle, Renee, and Carrie; his grandchildren, Brooklyn and Lacey, and his brother, William P. Barber.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. A memorial service will immediately follow calling hours at 6 p.m.
