Robert E. “Bob” Barnhart Sr., 83, of Cayuga passed away unexpectedly January2, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse. Bob was born in Ontario NY on August 3, 1935, the son of the late Stanley and Anna Dingman Barnhart. He was employed as a laborer with the Town of Aurelius and Cayuga County; was the Dog Control Officer for 20 years with the Town of Montezuma. Bob served with the Cayuga Fire Dept as a volunteer firefighter starting in 1966, and with the volunteer fire police.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Rosalind (Squires) his children, Robert E. Jr., Donald (Sharen Duncan), Valerie (Doug) Elliott, Richard (Susan), Jeffrey (Doris) and Rene' (Franklin) McCarty, his brother Lester (Sharon) Barnhart , several beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his sister Virginia Lawrence.
Calling hours will be held today (Friday, Jan 4) from 4-6 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc, 197 South St, Auburn. Memorial service to follow at 6 PM. Bob’s family requests the omission of flowers. Donations To Cayuga Fire Department or any your choosing.
