Stanley E. Joy Sr.

Stanley E. Joy Sr., 87 of Auburn, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Upstate Hospital, after battling a long illness. Mr. Joy was born on May 10, 1931, in the town of Mentz to the late Stanley L. and Edna Gibbs Joy. Ed retired as a truck driver from Auburn Sand & Stone. He truly enjoyed the years spent driving truck. Ed was an avid outdoors man, who loved spending his time hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He always looked forward to his weekly card and dice games with his good friends, Steve, Shirley,"Grandma" and Gary.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Jacobs Joy, whom he just celebrated 45 years of marriage with. His sons, Gary Joy, Dwayne Joy ,and Stanley  (Deborah Kennedy) Joy Jr. all of Auburn; his daughters, Debra (Danny ) Thompson of WV and Julie (Bob) Ratliff of Montezuma; two sisters, Patricia Stebbins of KS, and Nancy Ames of Waterloo; brother-in-law, Rodney Ames Sr.; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Richard Joy and his sister Edith Bertollini
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4-6 pm with a service to immediately follow in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr. Weedsport. Donations in Memory of Stanley E. Joy may be made to the American Cancer Society 6725 Lyon St. PO Box 7 East Syracuse, NY 13057
