Thomas Lennox Obituary

Thomas A. Lennox Sr. 65, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at his family home on Rockefeller Road, on Saturday July 21, 2018.
Tom was born in Auburn on February 18, 1953 to Thomas G. Lennox and Marion Reilley Lennox.
He was a graduate of Auburn High School, and developed a hard work ethic at a young age. At the time of his passing, he had 38 proud years into his business, Lennox Tree Service.
Tom was known throughout the area for his knowledge of trees and wood, and considered a “Master of his Craft”. He was an expert carpenter, welder, electrician, and restored cars, especially Corvettes. Tom was larger than life, especially when it came to his love for his family, friends, and country.
He was a Committee Member of Cayuga County Conservative Party, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, The Knights of Columbus, and the UNC Club. Tom cared about his community and donated his time and talent to make it better. Those of us fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to know Tom, and consider him a friend, have a treasure that even his tragic passing cannot take away. “If you were a friend, you were family”.
Tom has left his family and friends with many memories, his humor, his compassion, and his unforgettable organizing of the “Crow Shoot”.
Tom is survived by his wife, Pamela Gantner Lennox, with whom he would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in October of this year, his two sons, Thomas A. Lennox Jr. of Buffalo, and Daniel (Sylvia) Lennox, who will proudly carry on his father’s business, a granddaughter, who was the “love of his life”, Ella Martine Lennox, a sister Deborah Lennox, a brother Greg Lennox all of Auburn, a niece Tammy (Jerry) Meyers, nephews Gregory and John Lennox and a great nephew Connor, a sister in law Joanne (Ed) Schmidt, brother in law, Paul Gantner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Melrose Rd Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family Wednesday from 4-7 at Sacred Heart Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Tom Lennox may be made to charities of one’s choice.
