Verna "Pat" Jorolemon

     Verna “Pat” Jorolemon, 95, passed away at The Finger Lakes Center for Living surrounded by her loving family and caring staff on Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

     Pat was born in the town of Brutus on January 22, 1924 and resided most of her life in Weedsport and Jordan. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Blanche Lush Bowden. 
     Pat graduated from Weedsport High School in 1942 and then attended Crouse Irving school of Nursing where she earned her R.N. degree. Shortly after, Pat married her husband Art and they went on to celebrate fifty-nine years of marriage. They had three children-Bonnie, Sharon and Bobby. As a nurse, Pat worked at the Gibson Home in Weedsport. She also worked part-time for the family business, Otis Jorolemon and Sons.

     As an adult, Pat was a very active member of the Weedsport First Baptist Church. She served as the Sunday school superintendent and volunteered with the White Cross. Her hobbies included flower gardening, baking, and crafting special gifts for her grandchildren. She and Art spent twenty years “snowbirding” in Florida where they made many lifelong friends. But Pat’s finest accomplishment was spending time with her family, whether it was traveling, playing cards,  or making their favorite foods’.

     Pat was predeceased by her husband, Art, her daughter, Bonnie Guilfoyle and sister, Marcia Bowden.

     Pat is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Michael) Stowell of Charleston, S.C.;a son, Robert (Teresa) Jorolemon of Weedsport and son in law, David Guilfoyle of Endicott. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. 

     The family of Pat Jorolemon wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you  to the staff of Finger Lakes Center for Living for the wonderful care she received during her last few years as a resident.

     Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 19th from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20th  at the First Baptist Church Weedsport at 10am. Burial will follow at Weedsport Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Weedsport Fire Department 8892 South St. Weedsport NY 13166 or the First Baptist Church PO Box 501 Weedsport NY 13166
