Thomas Hoff 65, of Easterly Ave. Auburn died Tuesday July 4th, 2017 following a brief battle with cancer Tuesday morning at University Hospital Syracuse, his family by his side.
Tom was the son of the late James W. Hoff and Olive Clark Hoff. Born March 28, 1952 in Auburn, he was a 1971 graduate of Auburn High School, and The Monserrat Art Institute.
He began a career with the Auburn Fire Department, on March 17, 1986, and
retired 27 years later on July 28, 2013. A well liked member of the department, Tom enjoyed playing with the firefighter's hockey team, golfing, and the comradery of his brother firefighters. Tom was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and unofficial Auburn historian. He also enjoyed studying about the Civil War and had immense artistic talent. Tom always went out of his way to help family members and friends.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Katie Hoff, and her mother Annie Luziani Hoff.
His four sisters, Jean Karlick and her companion Fred Fye, Patricia Delanoy and her husband William, Lorraine Pinker and her companion Terry Scott , Barbara Gilmore and her husband, Thomas, all of Auburn and his two brothers, Larry Hoff and Richard Hoff and his wife Cherye of Massachusetts as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the Luziani family.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Hoff.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at 9:30 am at White Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming.
Friends are invited to call on the family Friday from 4 to 7 at White Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Tom to Matthew House and the SPCA of the Fingerlakes.

To the Hoff Family, Tom was a beautiful soul. He will be missed by many in the living world but never forgotten.
