Joan Pamplun Gurak 81, formerly of Van Duyne Ave., Owasco, passed away Tuesday March 6, 2018, at The Auburn Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Auburn on May 12, 1936, Joan was the daughter of the late William and Marie Linnenbach Pamplun. She had been employed as a phone operator with
New York Telephone, and for many years she was the accountant for Custom Cleaners. Joan was a dedicated parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, and had previously
Been employed as a Secretary, and assisted with the Religious Education Program. She enjoyed camping together with her late husband Walter Gurak and had been active with the Cub Scouts.
Joan is survived by her son, Michael Gurak, of Auburn, her granddaughter, Emma Marie Gurak, her two sisters, Sharon (Fred) Westover, and
Sandra (John) Usowski all of Auburn, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her sisters, Lois Floyd and Carol Green; and her niece Michelle Westover Montalbano
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 12th at 10am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family on Sunday, March 11th from 1:30-3:30 in Sacred Heart Church
