Marilyn Ann Dare Stevenson. 86. passed away peacefully in the arms of loved ones on the morning of October 8.  Born in Auburn, NY November 18, 1931 to lifelong Auburn residents Harold Dare and Ethel Farrington Dare, owners of Dare Radio, she graduated from Auburn Central High in 1950 where she was lead drum majorette.  On September 9, 1950 she married James Herbert Stevenson from Weedsport.  They recently celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary.  Together they raised 4 children living at times in Weedsport, Geneva, Apalachin, Vestal and Camillus.  Through the years Marilyn occasionally worked part-time as a waitress, bookkeeper and real estate agent and loved to play golf with friends.  Since 1986 they have resided in Weedsport and wintered in Palm Bay, FL.  Most of all though she was an adored wife, mother and grandmother.  She was the heart and soul of the family and will be sorely missed by all.
In addition to her parents Marilyn was predeceased by brother Robert Edwin Dare of Auburn, daughter Diane Marie Corey of Boulder, CO, son Richard Dare Stevenson of Vestal, grandson Damon Scott Corey of Johnson City, niece Cathy Dare Mancini and nephew Kenneth Dare both of Auburn.  She is survived by her beloved husband James Herbert Stevenson, son James Curtis Stevenson of Palm Bay, FL, daughter Cheryl Lynn Files (Philip) of Weedsport, daughter-in-law Debra Ackert Stevenson of Vestal, grandchildren Chad Derek Corey of Rossville, GA, Justin Steven and Jeslyn Dare Files of Weedsport, and James Robert and Jaclyn Patsy Stevenson of Vestal, great granddaughter Liz Corey Trafzert (Jeff) of Apalachin, gg-granddaughter Zoey Marie Trafzert of Apalachin, and nephews Steven (Mary) Dare of Auburn and John (Marsha) Dare  of Port Byron.
Special thanks to her dedicated daughter Cheryl Lynn Files who lovingly cared for her mother in the past year plus.
