Music by The Piano Brothers

Marilyn Jean Plis passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 2, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  She was 73 yrs old.  She was pre-deceased by her parents, Bernard and Mary Osterman and her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Jack Sheftic.  She is survived by her loving husband, David W. Park, her Step-mother and dear friend, Mary T. Osterman, her children, Darci Pelc (Duane Hildebrant), Richard (Katie) Liccion, Michael (Julie) Liccion, Jeffrey Liccion (Tricia Matthews), Christopher (Erin) Plis, Corey Plis, her step-brother, George Bodine, her devoted grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and lifelong friends Elaine and Ronnie Jones.  Her special dog Miki will surely miss her!
She was a longtime resident of Auburn and a graduate of Mount Carmel class of 1962. She went on to raise her family before starting her career in home decorating throughout many counties.  She spent several years working for Sears and was proud of her many accomplishments within their organization. Her proudest moments were spent being a Mom and grandmother and the time she spent with family.  It’s what was most important to her.  Her last several years were spent in Florida where she met Dave and together they started a beautiful life together. Her latest journey was back to Auburn upon Dave’s retirement to be closer to her family.
Family will receive friends at White Chapel Funeral Home, South Street, Auburn, NY on Thursday from 4-7pm.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10am in Sacred Heart Church.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lake Avenue, Auburn, NY.  In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in Jean’s memory.

I was shocked to hear the news. I recently had re connected with Jeanne here through facebook and telephone. We both ended up in Florida and talked about the many times we went dancing in Syracuse. I met her when she owned Mac's For sure she loved her family, and was a wonderful mother and Aunt. And a terrific friend to me, my best friend for many years. I was so happy to see her with Dave, she told me how wonderful he was. My condolences to her husband Dave and her family. Rest in peace my dear friend.
