Alice sold her home and moved to the Boyle Center in 2003 at age 77.
She became a volunteer at the YMCA where she assisted the elderly in the pool and delivered Meals on Wheels to all the shut-ins who lived at the Boyle Center. She was an avid bowler all her life and enjoyed playing Bocce. Alice participated in the many activities at Boyle Center playing bingo and Bunco, volunteering at fundraisers and attending the musical events. She also enjoyed traveling and belonged to two senior travel groups. She visited Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, Fanning Island and many of our United States.
Mrs. Garhartt believed her greatest achievement was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them both in NY and NC and all will miss her presence in their lives. Alice was active in the First Presbyterian Church in Auburn and was always willing to help others.
