Almon (Al) Barber, 87, of Auburn passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center in Rochester.
Mr. Barber was born in Batavia, NY on July 4, 1937. Al attend school at Newark Development Center and was employed at P&C for many years.
Mr. Barber lived a good long life. He was kind and a true gentleman, always willing to help. Al loved telling others of his life experiences. He enjoyed bowling ,camping and especially enjoyed his nightly walks through downtown Auburn.
Al came from a large family. He loved when his brother Frank would come to visit on the weekends; the two of them shared a close bond throughout his life.
Al was also close to his sister-in-law Rosie and her family.
He is very thankful for all the help that Nancy Roche and her family gave him and his wife over the last few decades; she was an exceptional care giver and advocate for Mr. and Mrs.Barber
In addition to his parents, Almon was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Beverly Barber in 2016.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 19th from 10-11am with a service to immediately follow at 11am all at White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St. Auburn. Burial will take place in Fort Hill Cemetery.
