Arlene Donato D’Alberto “Leny”, 87, of Auburn NY peacefully passed away on Saturday November 8, 2025. She was a life resident of Auburn NY; Arlene was born May 12,1938 to the late Anthony and Gladys (Foley) Donato.
Arlene retired from Off Track Betting and worked many years at Cayuga Community College. She loved time with her family which included many camping trips, trips to Atlantic City, the casino, bingo, Sunday dinners and over the top unforgettable holidays.
She had a great love for animals, especially horses and dogs. Arlene was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren; and was incredibly blessed to know and make unforgettable memories with her nine great grandchildren.
Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Andrew; her sister, Bernadine Burghdurf of Red Creek; in-laws, Carolyn (Phillip) Bauso and Mary Morabito all of Auburn; her children, Sharon (Timothy) Gadsby and David (Celeste) D’Alberto; her five grandchildren, Andrea (Sean) Conway; Ryan Gadsby; Matthew Gadsby; Kaleigh (Vinnie) Anastasi, and Kristen (John) Lennox; her nine great-grandchildren, Cohen and Camilla Ashby, Adelaide Ryan, Lillian and Russel Gadsby, Cameron and Grace Anastasi, Riley and Colin Lennox; several nieces, nephews and chosen family, Shelly DelFavero and Bailey Murphy.
In addition to her parents, Arlene is predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph and Bernard Donato; her four sisters, Pauline Corbett; Wilma Murinka, Patricia Prudom and Marion Condes; and her two nephews, William Donato and Jack Murinka.
We are sincerely grateful for the compassionate care provided by the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Matthew House and ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Matthew House.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4-6pm at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn. A funeral service will take place at 10am on Friday, November 14th in the funeral home. Burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn.
