Billy C Schwager Jr

Billy C. Schwager, 71, of Auburn, New York, passed away on July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Born to William and Marie Schwager, Billy was a devoted husband, brother, stepfather, family member, and friend. He lived a life defined by loyalty, hard work, and an appreciation for the people and passions that brought him joy.

Billy dedicated more than 42 years of service to Welch Allyn in Skaneateles, New York. Throughout his career, he earned the respect and admiration of coworkers through his dedication, dependability, and his one-of-a-kind brand of humor. He took great pride in his work and the many friendships he made along the way.

Billy shared a loving life with his wife, Betsy Schwager. Together they enjoyed many wonderful adventures, especially their vacations to Key West and visits to Saratoga Race Course, where they shared a love of horse racing and created cherished memories together.

Billy was passionate about sports, music, classic cars, and all things Harley-Davidson. He was a lifelong fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Chicago Bears. He was also a dedicated fan of the rock band KISS, whose music provided the soundtrack to many good times throughout his life. One of his greatest joys was his treasured 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle, a classic car that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, nostalgia, and the open road. Whether it was admiring Harley-Davidson motorcycles, following his favorite teams, or enjoying great rock music, Billy embraced the things he loved with enthusiasm.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy Schwager; his sister, Diane Amsden (Andrew); his stepdaughters, Tiffany Moretti (Paul) and Tracy Tucker; many beloved cousins, extended family members, dear friends; and his faithful dog, Harley, who was a cherished companion.

Billy was predeceased by his father, William Schwager; his mother, Marie Schwager; his father's longtime companion, Laura DeVoe; and his many beloved aunts and uncles.

Those who knew Billy will remember his easygoing nature, his endless sense of humor, and his unwavering loyalty to family and friends. He had a remarkable ability to make people laugh and leave lasting memories wherever he went. Whether cheering on Notre Dame, rooting for the Bears, admiring his Chevelle, talking Harley-Davidson motorcycles, listening to KISS, relaxing in Key West, or spending a day at Saratoga with Betsy, Billy embraced life with passion, gratitude, and a spirit that was uniquely his own.

Though he will be deeply missed, Billy's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. The stories he shared, the laughter he inspired, the friendships he cherished, and the love he gave to his family will remain his lasting legacy.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street, Auburn, New York.

A Memorial Service celebrating Billy's life will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South Street, Auburn, New York.
