Brian P. O'Hara

Brian P. O'Hara, 65, of Union Springs, passed away at home peacefully, with his family by his side on June 11, 2024. Born in Syracuse on February 6, 1959, Brian was the son of James O' Hara and the late Kathleen (Shetler) O'Hara. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1977 and was previously employed with Automatic Rolls of Auburn, Wells College as a Licensed Water Plant Operator and most recently, retired from Auburn Correctional Facility as an Engineer.

For all that knew Brian he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying all forms of hunting and fishing with a special love for fowl hunting. He loved July 4th and Halloween when he could put on a show for all to enjoy. He had an enormous and devoted love for his children and grandchildren. He was like no other and was legendary for his antics and tricks. For those who knew him well, his favorite was the baby doll crossing.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Donna O'Hara; his children, Jennifer (Dan) Schenck and Brian J. O'Hara; his father, James O'Hara, his siblings, Christine (Roland) Carnicelli, Andrew (Beth) O'Hara, Heather (Mark) Jarecki, and Meg O'Hara; his aunt, Kathy Shetler, and his three grandchildren, Claire, James and Emmy, along with several nieces and nephews.

Brian was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen (Shetler) O'Hara and his loving dog, Anne.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 16th from 11am - 2pm in White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn NY. Following the viewing a celebration of life for Brian will be held for family and close friends at the family home.
