Carmine Linda Camilleri Clingerman, 76, of Weedsport, passed away on February 3, 2025, at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Auburn on April 21, 1948, Linda was the daughter of the late Joseph S. Camilleri and Jewel O. (Brown) VanWie. Linda was a lifelong resident of the area. She had an entrepreneurial spirit and operated a small business along the Seneca River for many years. Linda was devoted to her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved animals of all kinds and rescued many through the years. She cared deeply for those in need—she organized fundraising activities and made generous donations to many organizations. Her faith, belief and trust in God gave her strength and comfort throughout her life.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Jeffrey Clingerman; her children, Andre (Katherine) Lafave, Joseph (Jonna) Gilfus, Jacqualine Gilfus and Chad Gilfus (Kristin Ratliff); her brothers, Terrie VanWie and Robert VanWie; her grandchildren, Zachary, Georgia, Tyler, Andre Jr., Alexis, Dante, Glen, Ella, Cassidy and Nathan, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her brothers, Francis Camilleri and Kenneth VanWie.
Per Linda's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
Donations in Linda's name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
