Catherine A. Hrynyk, 91, passed away on Wednesday June 19, 2024. A lifetime resident of Auburn, she was born July 9, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Leon and Mary Steele Cornall Miner. Catherine was a graduate of Central High School and was employed by General Electric, retiring after more than 30 years of faithful service. She was a resident of The Finger Lakes Center of the Living and a communicant of St. Peter and Paul Church. Also, Catherine was a member of the Catholic Daughters organization.
Her family was always her greatest joy. Catherine enjoyed hosting large family dinners and spending time with her grandchildren. Over the years, she traveled to Ukraine with her husband to visit family. Also, gardening and baking were two activities that Catherine enjoyed very much.
She is survived by her son Greg Hrynyk (Susan); grandchildren Melissa (Adam), Nicholas (Omri) and Christina (Silvio); great grandchildren Amelia and Greta; sister-in-law Mary Ann Miner; nieces and nephews; Nita Barfield (Donald), Rosemary Zwiesler (David), George Miner, Vickie Miner, Josette Randall (Greg), and many more nieces and nephews in US and Ukraine.
In addition to her husband Taras Hrynyk, Catherine was predeceased by 3 sons, Larry and Micheal Hrynyk and infant Paul; one brother George Miner; her loving sister Mary "Arlene" Cuddy; and niece Felicia Cerza.
Friends are invited to join the family for a funeral mass to be offered Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 12 noon at St. Peter and Paul Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour will be conducted prior to mass from 10:15 to 11:15 am in the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.
