Catherine L. (Smith) Komarisky

Catherine L. Komarisky, 68, of Scipio Center, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Auburn Community Hospital. Born March 2, 1956 in Vero Beach, FL, she was the daughter of the late Jack C. and JohnnyLou Wilson Smith. Cathy enjoyed traveling, especially adventures to state parks and beaches. She had an incredible talent for making everyone feel included and welcome. Working many jobs over her career, she retired from the Cayuga County Board of Elections and has faithfully attended the Scipio Community Church, joyfully serving the Lord for many years. Above all, she deeply loved her husband and family, never missing the birth of a grandchild and taking every opportunity to create wonderful experiences in their lives.  

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David Komarisky; two daughters, JoBeth Huskey (DJ) and Magda Bullard (Derek); 2 sons Jacob Komarisky (Emilee) and Garret Komarisky (Annie); grandchildren, Damien, Jesse, Tim, Tyler, Skyler, Xavier, Zack, Max, Dexter, Jason, Kayleigh, Caroline, Carson, Bowen, Lyra and Jayden; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Also, her beloved Aunt Betty Sue Wilson and cousin Pam

In addition to her parents, Cathy is predeceased by two brothers, Jack Curtis Smith, and Thomas Clifford Smith. 

Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Cathy’s life to be held Thursday, September 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at The Apple Station, 5279 Cross Road, Cayuga.
