Daniel Rusczyk, 74, of Cato, passed away peacefully in his home on December 31, 2024. Born in Syracuse, NY on August 11, 1950, Daniel was the son of the late Walter and Irene (Kozlowski) Rusczyk. He grew up in Eastwood where he attended school. He worked at Onondaga Tool Company in Fayetteville, Miller Brewing Company in Fulton and had his own business, Danny R's Small Tractor and Backhoe. In his later years he worked for Town of Cato Transfer Station. He co-managed Leisure Acres Trailer Park with his wife. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and painting in his free time. Nature conservation was important to him. He made many friends, neighbors and family happy by catching, cleaning, cooking and sharing his "bounty of fish".
He found his true love, Patricia whom he was married to for 54 years and had 2 daughters, Robin (Rob) Toro and Rochelle (Tony) Daggett and his son, Ron Rusczyk and his four grandchildren Preston and Camryn Daggett and Francesa and Isabella Toro. He is survived by his sister, Kathy Boccaccio; his brothers, David (Patti) Rusczyk and Mark (Liz) Rusczyk and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Walter Rusczyk of Syracuse.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 11th from 1pm - 3pm in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport, NY. A memorial service will follow at 3pm in the funeral home.
