David A. Farrelly, 77, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2025, after a period of declining health due to dementia. A lifelong resident of Auburn, David was born on June 19, 1947, to Joseph and Jane (Riedy) Farrelly. He proudly served in the United States Army. David was a self-employed carpenter in Auburn and the surrounding areas for over 50 years. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed trying his luck at the casino.
David is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marsha Farrelly; his daughter, Amy (Carman) McGriff; his grandchildren, Haleigh Farrelly (Matthew), Baile Baker and Jorri and Jelani McGriff; his great grandchildren, Davie Jo MicGlire, Jeremiah, Jaliyah and Jamoura McGriff; his stepdaughter, Melissa Baker; his siblings Edward, Ronald, Timothy, Deborah Brew , Kathryn Smith and Susan Treat; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his nephew Brian; his siblings, Joseph, William, Thomas, Paul, Richard, Bernard, Shirley Halcomb, Jeanne Berry and Patricia McNabb.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 12th from 11:30am - 1pm in White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn NY. A funeral service will follow at 1pm in the funeral home with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn.
