David A. Mizro Sr., 73 of Martin Road, Owasco, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 at his home. A life resident of the area, he was born July 30, 1950, the son of the late John and Florence Cuykendall Mizro. For many years David worked as a farmer both on the family farm, and for a few farms in the local area and also sold seed for many years to many local farmers. Following retirement from farming, he was employed with First Student as a bus driver and enjoyed spending some of his free time at the casino.
David is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Hawker Mizro; two daughters Jodi Murphy (Mike) and Kelley Peralta (Julius); one son David Jr. (Meghan), all of Auburn; six grandchildren, Taylor, Marissa, Julius, J'Anne, Zach and Carter; three great grandchildren Blakely, Nyella and Parker; one brother Bruce (Linda); sisters-in-law Beverly Sayles and Cindy Mizro; nieces and nephews Lori, Shannon, John, Jimmy, Tina, Caren, Greg and Laurie.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased his twin brother Donald Mizro and brother Larry Mizro; sister Shirley Armstrong; brother-in-law Tom Sayles; and nephew Michael Sayles.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours will be conducted Thursday, from 4 to 7pm in the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.
