David “Doc” O’Connor

David “Doc” O’Connor, 77 of Weedsport, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Born September 7, 1947 in Rochester, New York, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Krenzer O’Connor, and was a graduate of Weedsport High School. David had many interests and over the years, was employed with several businesses. In addition to the family farm, he was a salesman at several automotive dealerships and also worked at Welch Allyn in quality control.

Doc was a collector, enjoyed shopping on eBay, building, repairing and tinkering with almost anything. If he thought of it, he could build it. His many additional interests included, classic cars, grilling, and he was an avid fan of Syracuse Athletics and the Buffalo Bills. He cherished his time traveling throughout New York State and Canada, and never missing a Whitford Airport Pancake Breakfast. Above all, he thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with his family, children, and grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Carol Jones O’Connor, David is survived by two sons, Carmen O’Connor (Kylie) and Steve O’Connor (Marie); stepson, Timothy Jones (Sandra); Brothers Jim, O’Connor, Joseph O’Connor and Richard O’Connor; sister Jeanette O’Connor; brother-in-law, Tom Netti (Debbie); sister-in-law, Barbara Tomchik; grandchildren, Makenna Lacey, Bella, Chase, and Cooper O’Connor and Matthew Jones; his two cats Tiger and Casper; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Doc was predeceased by one grandson, Mason Michael O’Connor; and brother-in-law, Joseph Tomchik. 

Friends are invited to call on the family Friday, October 11, 2024 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in the White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr., Weedsport.  A service will be offered immediately following calling hours at 5:00 pm, in the funeral home.
