Diane L Fitzsimmons

Diane L. Fitzsimmons, 80, of Port Byron, peacefully made her journey to heaven Sunday, August 24, 2025. She was born in Auburn, NY, on April 22, 1945, to the late Whitman “Jack” and Muriel (MacDavitt) Loveland.

Diane retired from Seneca Foods, where she worked as Assistant Distribution Manager. She was known for her strong work ethic and the friendships she formed with her coworkers. Beyond her career, Diane treasured the many close friendships she nurtured throughout her life, including special bonds with her sister-in-law Ellen Colvin and lifelong friends Sharon Schooley, Joan McCarthy, Joan Alcock, and Marilyn Helmer.

Diane embraced life fully. She enjoyed concerts, horse races, and the occasional trip to a casino, but nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her family. She especially loved being with her great-grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas Fitzsimmons; daughters, Kristine and Michele (Ron); granddaughters, Crystal (Tom), Felicia (Christian), and Ashley (Matthew); and great-grandchildren, Shalynn, Tony, Lexi, Thomas, Jacoby, Levi, Paxley, Lila, J.J., Ariah, Malachi, and Liam. She is also survived by her brothers, Douglas (Ruth) and Duane; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by her brother, David Loveland; her sister, Deborah Millard; and her father- and mother-in-law, Edward and Alice Fitzsimmons.

A private service will be held with family to honor Diane’s life. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
