Donald J. Covich

Donald J. Covich 96 of Auburn passed away after a brief illness, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at the Finger Lakes Center for Living. Don was the son of Peter and Helen Elkovich Covich, grew up in Auburn and was a graduate of Central High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged following four years of faithful service. Don was employed for 32 years and retired from the New York Telephone Company as an Engineer. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and in his younger years, he worked BINGO and ushered the collection at Sunday Mass.

Donald is Survived by two sons Mark Covich and Paul Covich (Joann); eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four nieces. 

In addition to his parents, Don is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Connors Covich; two sons Richard and Peter; brother Calvin Covich; sister Clara Walsh; and nephew Kevin Covich.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 10:30 am in St. Mary's Church. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. 

The family would like to thank the staff in 3rd Memorial at Auburn Community Hospital as well as The Finger Lakes Center for Living for the excellent care for Don while he was there.
