Edward A. Church

Edward A. Church, 87, of Owasco, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on May 12, 2025. Born on the family farm in Owasco NY on December 9, 1937, Edward was the son of the late Edward and Florence Saltel Church.

Edward started working at young age to help provide for his family. He worked on a dairy farm in his early years and more recently on the Sierzenga Farm. Edward and his wife, Ann were married in 1959 at St. Ann's Church in Owasco, celebrating 65 years of marriage last year. He was employed with the Town of Owasco as a machine operator for 36 years. Edward drove the snowplow and was always willing to help someone in need when they had gone off the road. He was a kind and dedicated man and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Church; his sons, Gary (Michele) Church, Michael Church, David (Chrissy) Church and Mark (Lynn) Church; his daughters, Tammy Church, Tina (Wayne) Smith, April (Donald) Ford and Melissa Marques; his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by his son, Dale Church; his siblings, Thomas Church, Harry Church, Ellen Wells, and his half-brother, Kenneth Rosekrans.

My dad was the strongest person I knew he juggled many jobs over the years to support his growing family as I remember without even a complaint that's just what he did to make ends meet he was the best dad anyone could ask for he would often go without so we wouldn't have to my dad was my friend who would help anyone out and not expect anything in return he was a strong soul and will be sadly missed by those who we're fortunate to have known him he is my dad and will be missed by us all but he will aways be in my heart I love you dad.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 15th from 4pm - 6pm in White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.

A graveside service will be Friday at 10am in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn.
