Elayne E. Orasi, 75 of Waterloo passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday April 22, 2025 at the Wayne County Nursing Home after a long battle with cancer.
Born August 5, 1949 in Auburn she was the daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Cleary Smith, she lived most of her life in the area graduating from Cato-Meridian High School class of 1968, Elayne was employed with various restaurants as a waitress, most recently Hunter Diner where she met her husband Bob. Elayne enjoyed spending time with her friends and family including trips to the casino and family camping trips. Elayne enjoyed watching sports and especially loved watching her daughters play softball for their team, Amber’s Angels and was their biggest fan. Her greatest love in life was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren
She survived by her daughters Shelly Granatiero (Rodney) and Vicky Townsend (James Foster); son Gary Guy Jr. (Jessie Harvey); brothers Rusty Wood (Linda) and Ernest Smith (Judy); sister Lou Ann Roberts (Ken); stepson Robert Orasi Jr.; And several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Robert Orasi; the father of her children, Gary Guy Sr.; stepfather Paul Wood; granddaughter Amber, Lynn Townsend; and sister Elizabeth Hoisington.
Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life to be conducted 2:00 pm Sunday, May 18, 2025 at The Sunset, N. Division St., Auburn.
