Erwin Lee Forbes, July 6, 1942 – August 8, 2025

Erwin Forbes our brother, could not be summed up in a single word or a simple story. He was full of contradictions—tough and stubborn, yet deeply loyal and compassionate. Knowing him meant stepping into a world where things were not always clear, but feelings were always real. He challenged us, moved us, and loved us in his own unforgettable way.  We love you Erwin, God Bless.

He was born in Auburn, NY and lived most of his life in Weedsport area.  Erwin loved tinkering with older tractors and cars.  Walking was a passion, no matter the weather.  He would walk three miles to town and back for a few items at the store, for the exercise.

Erwin was predeceased by his parents, Curtis and Dora Belle (DeVoe) Forbes Jr., sister, Esther Eastman, brothers-in-law, Gary Bisgrove and Dell Tyler, nephew, Todd Forbes, aunts, and uncles.

He is survived by brothers, Edward (Sara), Lester (Maxcine), Lloyd, Herbert (Patricia), Thomas (Debra), Sisters, Winnifred Tyler, and Hilda Bisgrove, several nieces, and nephews.

A service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport, NY 13166.  Graveside services will be conducted at Weedsport Rural Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Erwin’s memory may be made to the Commons on St. Anthony, 3 St. Anthony Street, Auburn, NY 13021 or Jordan Ambulance, 1 North Hamilton Street, Jordan, NY 13080.
