Erwin Jimmy Nichols, 79, of Auburn passed away on January 7, 2024. Born in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Jimmy was the son of the late Gilbert and Arlene (Gerow) Nichols. He proudly served our Country while in the United States Army. Jimmy had been previously employed with the Wellsboro Telephone Company, the Montoc Bus Garage as a mechanic, Pat's Garage and later went on to own and operate Jim's General Construction for 10 years. He was a dedicated foster parent for 15 years. Jimmy loved fishing and hunting and spent a lot of time at his camp in Pennsylvania. He, along with his wife, Rosalie, enjoyed camping and often drove the camper to North Carolina to visit family and visited locations along the east coast.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rosalie Nichols, his daughters, Dinate (Jan) Steiner, Pamela Reynolds, Carmina Nichols, Mariah Nichols, Debby (Ted) Johnston and Melissa (Jericho); his sons, Jamie (Amy) Nichols, Joseph Erwin Nichols, Chad Nichols, David (Lisa) Rouse Jr., Dana (Pamela) Rouse and Donnally (Jamila) Rouse; his brother, Gerald "Sonny" Nichols; his special cousin, Louis (Linda) Covert; his aunts, Alice Blank and Janlyn Gerow, his uncle, Arnold Gerow and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 17th from 4pm - 6pm in White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn NY. A memorial service conducted by Pastors Stephen Phillips and Lois Sullivan, with military honors, will be held following calling hours at 6pm in the funeral home.
