Gene Nelson Obituary

Gene A. Nelson, 67, of Port Byron passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2025, at his home. Born in Auburn on August 16, 1958, Gene was the son of the late Earl and Edith Miller Nelson. Gene worked as a handyman, always willing to help friends and neighbors. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.

Gene is survived by his companion of 38 years, Laura Southard; his children, Alicia (Robert) Willis, Christopher (Millisa) Nelson, Erica Nelson and Ashley (Greg) Nelson; his sister Kathleen Hawley, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Following Gene's wishes, there will be no calling hours or service.
