Gerald "Jerry" Colvin Obituary

Gerald A. "Jerry" Colvin, 88, also known as the "King of Brutus" of Weedsport, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026, at Auburn Community Hospital surrounded by his daughters, and loving family. Mr. Colvin was born in Ira, NY on April 15, 1937, to the late James H. and Edith Taber Colvin.

Jerry proudly served our country with the United States Navy from 1955-1959. Mr. Colvin was formerly employed with Crouse Hinds, and Colonial Homes-Upstate Builders. In 1975, he decided to open his own business; Jerry Colvin Construction, which he owned and operated for nearly 50 years. Jerry enjoyed hunting, especially with his brother David, and golfing with his family.

Jerry felt blessed to have spent over 48 years with his wife Priscilla; whom he truly adored. He always put her needs ahead of his own; and wouldn't have it any other way.

Jerry is survived by his loving family, his wife Priscilla Marshall Colvin; his daughters, Cheri Garrett of Elizabeth, NC; and Valerie (Thomas) Short of Weedsport; his bonus children, Leicia (Kevin) Brown, of Weedsport., Ken (Dorie) Buchanan of Weedsport; Beth (Bill) Hunt, of Elbridge; Scott Buchanan of Eustis, FL; his brother, David (Ellen) Colvin; his sister, Shirley Colvin Gillmore; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his daughter, Teri Jo Colvin; his son, Mark Allan Colvin; and his brother-in-law, Richard Gillmore.
