Helen J. Stoneburg, 86 of Auburn, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 in Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Auburn on December 31, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Bernice Knapp Axton, and was a graduate of Port Byron High School where she was a member of the band. Helen was employed as a Nurse at Auburn Memorial Hospital, working in the Maternity Ward or in any area or department she was needed or asked to go. She loved people and had a zest for helping as much as she could. For many years Helen enjoyed traveling and later on loved playing Bingo. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with her loving family.
She is survived by one daughter Jennifer Stoneburg; sons Dennis Roberts (Doreen), Jeff Roberts, Mike Roberts and Nicholas Roberts; step-son Robert "Rocky" Stoneburg; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and second husband Robert Stoneburg, she was predeceased one son Patrick Roberts; and two brothers Lawrence and Earl Axton.
Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside service to be offered this summer at 11:00 am Monday, August 3, 2026 in Pine Hill Cemetery, Centerport Road, Throop. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., Auburn.
