J. Edwin L. Garrigan Sr.

J. Edwin L. Garrigan Sr., 83, of Weedsport passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Auburn Community Hospital. Mr. Garrigan was born in Auburn, NY on April 1, 1943 to the late Leo Garrigan and Dorothy MacDonald Hilderbrandt. For many years Ed was employed with Clark Concrete Company in Syracuse as a Heavy Equipment Operator. 

Ed was a hard worker with unwavering work ethic. Providing for his family was one of his greatest joys and accomplishments. He was always willing to help anyone in need at any time. Ed loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and admiring the wildlife. He enjoyed rolling dice and playing cards. His favorite times were the ones spent with his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his children, J. Edwin L. Garrigan Jr. (Tammy), Goldie Garrigan (Thomas Lees) and Michael Smith; his grandchildren, Jordan Shoemaker, J. Edwin L. Garrigan III, Thomas Lees Jr., Blake Arthur Garrigan, Mikaylee Smith, and Madelynn Smith; his great grandchildren, Summer, Chance and one more on the way; his siblings, Duane Hilderbrandt (Darci), Daniel Hilderbrandt (Joann), Dawn Townsend (Randy), Deborah Behm (Josh); and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his loving wife Audrey Garrigan in 2018; and his siblings, Nancy Cook, William Garrigan and James Garrigan. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
