James Thomson Obituary

James David Thomson (Jim, Jimmy)  1/31/1952-4/22/2024

Jim was born in Auburn, NY and was predeceased by his parents Dorothy Delaney Thomson and Richard A Thomson and also his siblings Richard K Thomson, Joan Tucker and Holly Neuffer.

He is survived by siblings Donna (Richard) Satterlee, Susan (Stephen) Walker, Kevin (Berry) Thomson, Pam (Gerald) Mickels, Jonathan Thomson, Christopher Thomson, sister-in-law Marcia Thomson, many nieces, and nephews with close nieces Meghan (Jeremy) Rusco and their sons, Brooke Wingerter, and special friend Paula Blay. He is also survived by aunts Denise Sanders and Linda Netti, step-mother Peggy Thomson as well as many cousins.

Jim served in the Air Force and was actively involved in VFW Post 1975. This VFW post was an important part of his life with many close friends and good times.

Jim’s career as a professional chef used his passion for food and good taste which brought him to Florida and Maryland with him settling in Auburn, NY.

He loved the companionship of his cats. He had a lifelong interest in photography, enjoyed bike riding, music and golf as well as walking.

Jim had a witty sense of humor that made us laugh and love him. We are thankful for the memories, love, friendship and times we shared with Jim and will treasure these in our hearts.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Tuesday, April 30th starting at 3:30 PM at VFW Post 1975, 44 East Genesee St Auburn NY 13021
