Jason Forish Obituary

Jason A. Forish, 43 of Clay and formerly of Auburn, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at his home. Born in Cortland January 27, 1981, the son of Cynthia Matijas Forish and the late Joseph A. Forish, Jason was a graduate of Auburn High School, Class of 1999. Following nursing school graduation from Cayuga Community College in 2011, he was employed as a Registered Nurse with Upstate Hospital at Community General. Jason couldn't do enough for people, was a talented cook who always created dishes for all gatherings. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Buffalo Bills since childhood, attending numerous games in Orchard Park with family and friends. He also enjoyed working out to stay in shape. Jason was a true family man, and dog whisperer. Whether it was a friend, patient or animal, they were attracted to his calm and inviting demeaner. 

 

He is survived by his mother Cynthia Forish Czubat; stepson Jae Simo; sister Amy Jo Kaufman; niece Rachel Kaufman; nephew Josef Kaufman; good friends Michael Gauthier and Mike "Hokey" Volpe; his two k9 babies Ray and Layla; as well as his mother's dog, Oliver Twist. 

 

In addition to his father, Jason was recently predeceased by his loving wife Renee Licata Forish on November 12, 2024; and his maternal grandparents Charles and Florence Matijas. 

 

Friends are invited to join the family for a Funeral Mass to be offered at 12:00 Noon, Monday, December 2, 2024, in St. Mary's Church, 15 Clark Street, Auburn. Calling hours will be conducted in the church prior to mass, from 10:00 am to 11:45 am. Jason would appreciate if visitors chose to wear Buffalo Bills attire. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., Auburn.

 

Contributions may be made in memory of Jason to St. Mary's Church, Auburn or the Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY.
