Jean Ann Shepardson

Jean Ann VanNorstrand Shepardson, 91, of Auburn passed away on January 31,2024. Jean, the daughter of the late David and Wava(Cooper) VanNorstrand, was born on September 16, 1932 and raised on her family's farm in Conquest NY. She attended Cato-Meridian schools and graduated in the class of 1950. After High school she went on to Rochester Business Institute. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for many years at Cayuga Centers, and most recently at Experience Works. She was part of the work force until her retirement at the age of 83. Jean juggled work, her children and her home, rarely sitting still. She was very witty and funny, guaranteeing a laugh with her one liners. Jean loved and lived for her family. Her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her entire world.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Victoria Shepardson, Ginny (Michael) Kapusta, Carol (Bill) Colvin; her grandchildren, Dr.Scott (Dr Keely) Nodzo, Stephanie (Cesar) Nodzo, Carly (Adam) Colvin, and Jason (Melissa) Colvin; her great grandchildren, Kennedy, Daxton, Ari, Emmi, Aiden, Luci, Gio, Ruby and Violet. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband, Victor Shepardson and later in life her significant other Marshall Bancroft.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers who helped Jean on her journey, providing her with love, patience and compassion.

Calling hours for Jean will be held on Monday, February 5th from 10am-12pm in the Auburn United Methodist Church, 99 South St, Auburn, NY. A funeral service will follow at noon in the church with interment in Soule Cemetery, Auburn.
