Jeffrey M. Smith

Jeffrey M. Smith, 64 of Port Byron, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born December 27, 1960 in Lyons, he was the son of the late Eugene and Shiela Kellogg Smith. Jeff briefly did some work in conservation before becoming a Corrections officer and retiring from Auburn Correctional Facility. Jeff enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper. That included his favorites camp sites of Letchworth State Park and Old Forge and fishing the Salmon River. More than anything, Jeff loved and cherished the time spent with his family. 

He is survived by his daughters Ashley Greynolds (Garry), Mallory Smith (Anthony) and Kara Roe (Keith); sons Michael Smith and Michael Hayes (Ashley); brothers Mark Gilfus (Donna), Bret Smith (Marcia), Rick Smith, Randy Smith, Bart Smith (Vicky), Jeff Nedza (Kathy) and Lewis Smith; two sisters Cathy Gloska (George) and Trixie Smith; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Jeff is predeceased by his loving wife Brenda Keery Smith; daughter Felicia Hayes; and son Eric Urwin. 

Calling hours for Jeff will be offered Monday, May 12, 2025 from 10:00 am to Noon in the White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport. A service will be conducted at Noon in the funeral home. Following services, burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron.
