Joan Elaine Dawley (Berry),“Joanie”, 63 of Auburn, NY passed away peacefully yet unexpectedly July 4th, 2020 in the comfort of her home. Joan was born at Auburn Memorial Hospital on July 24th, 1956. She was one of the eleven daughters of the late Gerald Paul Sr. and Mildred Jean (Day) Berry. She was employed at Maxwell’s Food Store for many years and was well known to her neighborhood. Joanie, “Bones”, or even “Granny” was a very welcoming, and loving woman who adored her grandchildren, and used her favorite line “ I love you very much, and don’t you ever forget that”, any time she told them she loved them. She had a firecracker smile and a personality like no other. She embraced and saw the best in everyone. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will always be remembered. Joan is survived by her loving, and devoted husband of 45 years, Stephen Dawley Sr.; their 3 children, Stephen Dawley Jr., Lisa (James) Scott, and Eric (Mollie) Dawley; 8 grandchildren that she loved and adored dearly, Ivan Dawley, Jacob Dawley, Amani Dawley, Ronisa Dawley, Ky’Rissa Copes, Haiden Klop, Cole Dawley, and Logan Dawley; 9 siblings, Marcia Reese, Denise Morphy, Linda (Roland) Ford, James (Sylvia) Berry, Barbara (Pat) Marren, Peggy(Chuck)Randall, Patricia (Gregg) Potter, Michael Berry Sr., Michelle (Alan) Bergerstock; as well as many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joanie was predeceased by her parents, as well as her brothers Thomas Berry, Gerald Berry Jr., and sisters Sharon Cox, Jean Tallada, and Theresa Sullivan.
