John T. McLoughlin, 80, of Port Byron, passed away on January 18, 2024, at Auburn Nursing Home. Born in Auburn on July 11, 1943, John was the son of the late David and Katherine (Gleason) McLoughlin. He was a construction manager, working with various companies over the years, and retiring from Niagara Mohawk. He, along with his wife, Kathy were parishioners of St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of the New York Giants and Notre Dame football. John was a true family man. Sharing time and making memories with his loved ones was most important to him.
John is survived by his loving wife, Katherine McLoughlin; his daughter, Patricia (Aaron) Tamburrino; his sons, Christopher (Michelle) McLoughlin of NC, Timothy (Laurie) McLoughlin and Michael (Laura) McLoughlin; his brothers, Kevin (Ruth) McLoughlin of VT and Daniel (Winnie Riester) McLoughlin; sisters in law, Patricia McLoughlin of Binghamton, Jennifer Halsey and Carolyn Halsey; his grandchildren, Eric (Alicia) Johnson, Emily (Craig) Vesling of NC, Molly McLoughlin of NC, Erin, Kaleigh and Kira McLoughlin, Matthew and Sean Tamburrino and Patrick, Andrew and Dylan McLoughlin, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, David McLoughlin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 24th at 11am in St. Mary's Church, Auburn. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Auburn. Condolences may be offered at whitechapelfh.com.
